Where Is The Denver Sanctuary?

The Denver Sanctuary address is 2620 W 2nd Ave, Denver, CO 80219

Google Review on Dangerous Theatre ~2017

Small building and hard to find. It specifically for kinky people or people curious about kinky. Look it up on fetlife. Home of the Denver Sanctuary play dungeon. Has a cage and lots of hard points and tables. About a 700 square foot room for play but there is a separate space for classes and a separate space for seating. Make sure you attend an orientation at the Sanctuary before you attend any events.

Why make this site?

I stumbled upon The Denver Sanctuary while browsing FetLife, even though I don't live nearby. Feeling frustrated by the lack of transparency, I decided to share the address publicly. My motivation stems from a belief in the importance of freely accessible information.

Why would someone need this if they aren't a member?

For many autistic individuals, researching new places can be a comforting process. Here's why:

  1. Predictability and Control: Autistic individuals often find comfort in predictability and control. Researching a new place allows them to gather as much information as possible, reducing uncertainty and providing a sense of control over the situation.

  2. Visual Thinking: Many autistic individuals are visual thinkers, meaning they process information better through visuals rather than text or verbal descriptions. Seeing pictures of a new place helps them to create a mental image and understand what to expect.

  3. Sensory Sensitivities: Autistic individuals may have sensory sensitivities that make unfamiliar environments overwhelming. By researching a new place beforehand, they can anticipate potential sensory challenges and prepare strategies to cope with them.

  4. Routine and Familiarity: Autistic individuals often rely on routine and familiarity to feel comfortable and secure. Researching a new place allows them to become familiar with it in advance, making it feel less intimidating and more like a part of their routine.

  5. Decision-Making Process: Autistic individuals may prefer to make decisions based on concrete information rather than intuition or social cues. By gathering detailed information about a new place, they can make a more informed decision about whether or not they want to visit.

Overall, researching new places can be a deeply enriching experience for autistic individuals, allowing them to satisfy their curiosity, alleviate anxiety, and make well-informed decisions about where they want to go.

Okay. So why not just ask?

Autistic individuals may feel more comfortable and confident when they can gather information in their own way and at their own pace, within their comfort zone. Asking for information requires social interaction, which can be challenging or stressful for many autistic individuals.
